Our Story

P&A Audio is more than just a business — it’s a family legacy.

Established in 1972 by Dennis Flack in Crosby, the company takes its name from Dennis’s children, Phil and Amanda, reflecting the family values at its core.

From its humble beginnings, P&A quickly flourished, expanding to three locations across Crosby, Ormskirk and Southport. The company’s success was further cemented when it acquired the iconic Southport Hi-Fi, a well-loved store with over 30 years of history in the local audio community.

As the world changed during the recent pandemic, so did P&A. Embracing the opportunity to evolve, the company consolidated its operations into one flagship store, strategically positioned to serve customers across all areas. This move allowed P&A to strengthen its commitment to offering the very best in home, commercial, and retail audio-visual solutions.

What sets P&A apart is its unparalleled expertise — its team boasts over 150 years of combined experience in the audio-visual industry. But it’s not just about knowledge; service and aftercare are the heart of everything P&A does. From the moment you step into the store to the follow-up care after installation, every customer receives the personalised, expert attention that has been the hallmark of P&A Audio for decades.

Meet The Team

P & A Audio Phil

Phil

Thanks to his parents, Phil grew up surrounded by music and it has stayed a constant passion throughout his life.

At just 12 years old, Phil attended his first music gig and enjoyed playing his parents’ record collection. Now many years later – not a week goes by without a gig (or three) in Phil’s busy diary.

When starting his career, he combined his love of music with his head for business, working as a trusted sales manager in the Hi-Fi industry. For over 7 years, he worked with leading hifi brands across the UK, including Mordaunt-Short, Creek and Epos, to promote the latest innovations in audio.

Having finely honed his audio expertise and having garnered the respect of the major UK brands, Phil decided it was time to join the family audio business, taking over P&A Audio. He has now been part of the company for over 25 years

P & A Audio Chris

Chris

Southport born and bred, Chris started his career working in retail but his passion for music saw him as a regular P&A customer. Seeing his love for music and expertise when it comes to getting the perfect sound, it was only a matter of time before he joined the P&A team.

He is our most experienced member of the team when it comes to system building, whether it’s digital or analogue. So if you need help upgrading your turntable or advice on the ultimate streaming setup, he is your guy.

Now with over 25 years in the team, we would be lost without him.

P & A Audio Mike

Mike

Mike is an integral part of the P&A team, who joined the company over 35 years ago. Originally working for Liverpool-based audio and visual company Laskys for over a decade. This experience gave him the perfect foundation for helping P&A clients find the perfect product for their homes or commercial spaces.

With unparalleled knowledge when it comes to TV, he is our in-house guru for all things visual-related.

He also manages our eBay site and is always happy to answer any installation questions you may have.

P&A Audio Martin

Martin

Our international man of mystery.

Originally the manager of our P&A Crosby store, Martin has been with the company for over 35 years. After honing his AV knowledge at Laskys, he joined the company and never looked back.

He now supports the company from behind the scenes, ensuring our admin and paperwork are in tip-top shape, but does have a day in the store once a month.
